Ingredients:
For the Bratwurst:
- 4 bratwurst sausages
- 1 tablespoon oil or butter
For the Kartoffelpüree (Mashed Potatoes):
- 1 kg potatoes (Yukon Gold or Russets are good choices)
- 50 g butter
- 100 ml milk (warm)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Nutmeg (optional)
For the Sauerkraut:
- 500 g sauerkraut (drained)
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 apple, peeled and grated
- 1 tablespoon oil or butter
- 100 ml white wine or apple cider
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 teaspoon caraway seeds (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
